I was eagerly anticipating a visit to this restaurant after seeing the passion Chef Evan Funke has for the art of pasta making, and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. We ordered the orecchiette with ’nduja, ricotta gnocchi, linguine al limone, focaccia, and the Amalfitana pizza. Each dish was a testament to balance and flavor. The pizza perfectly combined the zestiness of lemon with the saltiness of mozzarella. The orecchiette was incredibly flavorful, while the focaccia had the perfect contrast of a crispy exterior and a pillowy soft interior. The ricotta gnocchi was soft and delicate, and the linguine al limone was refreshingly bright. Service was excellent, and I will definitely be returning!

Came to Funke because we saw the Netflix documentary. I forgot to set an alarm for reservations and. Few hours after they opened up the week before they were sold out. Luckily we were able to get a table on the roof top which serves the same menu as the inside. Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Cocktails were great and so was the service. We got the rice balls, margarita pizza and two pasta dishes which were fabulous. If you can’t get in check out Felix LA similar menu same owner and not to far away.

The atmosphere was absolutely stunning, and the food exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the service was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience truly enjoyable. One of the highlights of Funke is its gorgeous rooftop patio with great views of the city. They also offer valet parking, though it’s worth noting that the valet is located down an alley and not the easiest walk in heels! As for the food, it was phenomenal! Our favorite dishes were the cacio e pepe and the tagliatelle—both were perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. Even the non-alcoholic drink options were thoughtfully crafted and absolutely delicious. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Funke and can’t wait to return. It’s an excellent spot for great Italian food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!

JUST WOW- from the moment we entered the restaurant till the moment we left, everything was fantastic. First we watched as pasta was made live near the check in area. Kara and Chuck took care of us once we were seated. After a great conversation about the menu we ended up ordering espresso martinis to start, The Sfincione in Bianco, squash blossoms, misticanza salad, the gnocchi, and the pappadardelle. Everything was PHENOMENAL. Looking forward to returning for another special evening out.

We had a great time at Funke! The service was really great: we shared quite a few laughs with staff and everyone was attentive without being overbearing. We were happy with our menu choices: we had the focaccia, burrata, pappardelle, busiate, and spaghetti all’arrabbiata. I especially loved the pappardelle: it was nearly paper thin, had beautiful flavor, and was sauced perfectly. The service, food, and atmosphere all combined were a hit. We would gladly come again.

I cannot rave about this enough! My experience at Funke was incredible. I walked in with no reservation as a party of one, and they were more than accommodating with no notice. They even offered me a choice between the outdoor rooftop patio or the mezzanine bar with the full dinner menu! I was brought upstairs and sat at the gorgeous marble bar, where behind the counter on the ceiling mounted TV they were streaming a live feed of their pasta kitchen downstairs where a chef was rolling out the pasta fresh by hand. I’d found out about this place from the Netflix documentary, “Chef’s Table: Pasta,” and it fully lived up to the hype. The signature tagliatelle was life changing. I’ll never be able to look at store bought pasta without a little regret and my homemade pasta skills are woefully rusty compared to the windowpane thin strands of pasta I was served. The service was incredible: thoughtful and patient and always ready to take my lead when I was ready for the next steps of service. While the atmosphere was lively and the music was driving, it was loud for a Monday night. I won’t hold that too much against them. To be a busy restaurant going into a recession that is fully booked on a Monday is a fantastic problem to have. I can’t wait to come back with my husband so I can eat the other 90% of the menu I couldn’t get to as just one person.

I had the pleasure of dining solo here tonight after miraculously scoring a last-minute early dinner reservation—a rare feat that felt like a small victory. Arriving just a few minutes before my reservation, I was promptly whisked upstairs and seated in the bustling dining room, where the hum of lively conversation set the perfect ambiance. The service? Impeccable. My waitress was not only attentive but also had a knack for spot-on recommendations. Naturally, I trusted her completely. The meal began with a bright and zesty citrus salad, its tangy freshness perfectly balanced by salty, savory anchovies. Just as I was savoring the last bite, a delightful surprise landed on my table—squash blossoms, compliments of the chef. Crisp, delicate, and bursting with flavor, they were a gift I won’t soon forget. The pasta course was an absolute triumph: agnolotti with sage and brown butter. Each bite was a comforting hug of rich, nutty perfection. Following that, I indulged in the tagliata di manzo, cooked to a flawless medium rare with a stunning char that delivered smoky depth. But the star of the plate? The fennel-dusted potatoes paired with parmigiano reggiano shavings. That unexpected combination brought a creative twist that elevated the dish into unforgettable territory. For dessert, I chose the cheesecake, and let me tell you—it was almost too beautiful to eat. The presentation alone was artful, but the flavors lived up to the aesthetics. Creamy, indulgent, and the perfect sweet finish to a meal that felt like a masterclass in thoughtful dining. The attentive and intentional service truly brought everything together. Every detail felt deliberate, every dish a joy. I left feeling like I’d experienced something special. Highly recommend this spot—it’s worth every bit of the hype.
